The Family Advocate (TFA) is a residential treatment facility that provides effective rehabilitation services to troubled girls (between the ages of 13 and 17) with behavior, academic, and trauma recovery issues.

For 20 years, The Family Advocate Staff Has Helped Girls Overcome Life-Controlling Issues. At The Family Advocate, girls receive an individual treatment plan aligned with their medical, emotional, and psychological needs.

Our multi-disciplinary staff is dedicated to helping each resident embark on a new and more productive path in life.

Our clinical staff, both on and off-campus, is made up of psychiatric specialists, primary care physicians, a dentist, an orthodontist, licensed psychotherapists, teachers, mentors, and residential care staff.

Troubled girls in our care attend individual, group, and family therapy sessions with our staff of highly skilled professional counselors. We also provide specialized help for students dealing with addiction and abandonment issues.

With one-on-one assistance from our academic staff, girls at TFA are able to catch up on their schooling, repair grades from previous years, and advance in their schooling or even graduate much sooner than they would have attending school elsewhere.

Additionally, we provide regular academic progress reports that we make available to all of the parents of our students.

The Family Advocate is a residential school and therapeutic intervention for troubled girls. TFA offers counseling for teenage girls struggling with anger, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), attention deficit, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), substance abuse, depression, reactive attachment disorder (RAD), intermittent explosive disorder (IED), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, self-harm, and general rebellion.

The Family Advocate uses a therapeutic/educational approach to helping troubled girls reconcile their emotional and behavioral challenges. Our objective is her transformation and the restoration of her family.
